Canadian soo Rifles Cap Badge

Part of the intriguing collection of military cap badges, this one has us a bit stumped.

It belongs to to the unit soo Rifles but we don’t know anymore about it. Above the word Canada, appears the number 51.

Can anybody tell us more?
