Tithe maps for the county of Cheshire have been put online by Cheshire County Council. This great resource of 500 maps offers something really different to help the family historian. The maps were produced about 150 years ago and were probably the first relatively accurate maps drawn relating to parishes.  The site is also searchable by name, so very useful for all family history.

• Find out who lived in your village or house
• Track land ownership for your area
• See what use the land was being used for and compare with present day maps
