Wehrmacht Close Combat Clasp

This clasp was instituted on 25th November 1942, by Hitler, to honour and recognize the courage of the German soldier when engaged in hand to hand combat.

Designed by Wilhelm Ernst Peekhaus, it was cast in zinc and worn on left breast .
